    Hon’ble Minister(Transport) launches Integrated Road Accident Database(iRAD) Project in Arunachal Pradesh.

    IRAD The Hon’ble Minister (Tourism, Transport and Civil Aviation) of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Nakap Nalo inaugurated the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) on 21st February 2022, under the aegies of Azadi ka Amrut Mahatsov(AKAM) at the council meeting of State Road Safety Cell organized by the State Road Safety Lead Agency, Government of Arunachal Pradesh at the Chief Secretary Conference Hall, Block No. 2, Civil Secretariat, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

    The inauguration programme was chaired by Hon’ble Minister Shri Nakap Nalo inthe presence of Shri Dani Salu, Secretary(Disaster Management & Transport), Special Secretary(Transport) Smti Parul Gaur(IAS), Officials from National Informatics Centre(NIC) Arunachal Pradesh and iRAD Stakeholders such as PoliceDepartment, Transport Department, PWD(Highways) Department and Health Department.

    The Hon’ble Minister(Transport) on launching iRAD Project thanked the joint effort made by all the Stakeholder Departments for making this project rollout in the State successfully.

    This project, he believed would particularly be very useful for Arunachal Pradesh inimproving the road safety measures along the roads accident in Arunachal Pradesh.In his inaugural speech, he had also highlighted the review of decision of the State
    Road Safety Cell meeting made on 20th January 2021. After initiating iRAD in 6 pilot states – Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in February 2021, Arunachal Pradesh State became one of the Twenty Four (24) States who is able to implement the project in all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh. This clearly highlighted the excellent team spirit and good coordination among all the Stakeholders of the State of Arunachal Pradesh.

    An Overview of the iRAD Project was presented by Shri Jyotish Roy(State Informatics Officer, NIC), Er. S. Sumnyan(Chief Engineer, PWD & Highway), Er. T.Taga (Superintendent Engineer, Highway -cum- Nodal Officer, Highway-iRAD), Dr. Ani Siram(Medical Officer, Road Safety Lead Agency -cum- Nodal Officer, HealthiRAD), Dr. Irak Bagra, Superintendent of Police(Traffic & Road Safety) PHQ Itanagar, also delivered a short address and suggested new ideas & policies with the council body for the improvement of the road safety. The inaugural function ended with Vote of Thanks by Smti Parul Gaur, IAS(Special Secretary, Transport).
